The Breast Milk Donor Program at Our Level III NICU
To help babies who are seriously ill or premature, we offer banked donor human milk for babies in the Level III NICU whose mothers are not able to breastfeed. The milk is screened and pasteurized, making it safe and free of bacteria, while still retaining its beneficial components.
The Benefits of Breast Milk for Babies in the NICU
Better than any other food, breast milk helps nourish premature and medically fragile newborns. High-risk newborns who only drink breast milk have fewer infections and other medical complications, and breast milk is more easily digested than formula. In fact, the antibodies in human milk have been shown to protect babies from many different diseases, and this protection extends into childhood.
When mothers adopt high-risk babies or are otherwise unable to produce their own breast milk, donor programs can become a lifeline for children and their families.

Becoming a Breast Milk Donor

It is committed to maintaining its non-profit status, providing community service, offering reasonable prices, and ensuring the highest quality breast milk to clients.
