Life’s First Hellos Start Here
The miracle of life deserves something special. That’s why we combine comfort and technology to embrace you and your family as you welcome your newborn.
At San Martín, we are different from other hospitals. At San Martín, moms don’t switch rooms — you will be in the same suite your entire experience. In fact, we are the only hospital in the Las Vegas Valley that operates on this LDRP model. That means you labor, deliver, recover, and postpartum in the same suite. While other hospitals move you to a recovery room after your baby is born, we believe you’ve got more important things to focus on during that time. Here, you’ll do more bonding and less moving.
Our board-certified laborists are on site 24/7. These are board-certified obstetricians who are here to help you in case your doctor is delayed. No mom should be alone waiting for their doctor, so at San Martín, you won’t be. Our laborists can do anything your doctor can do, up to and including delivering your baby.
Pain relief is an important factor to consider when planning your birth. That’s why we were the first hospital in Nevada to offer nitrous oxide for pain relief during labor. If ordered by your doctor, you will self-administer this non-narcotic gas to ease your pain..
We are the only Baby-Friendly USA designated hospitals in southern Nevada. Hospitals with this designation have a demonstrably higher level of expertise in the support and education of mothers interested in breastfeeding their newborns. And your baby stays in your room 24/7 (some exceptions apply), where they should be. After all, there is a good reason we don’t have a nursery — it’s your baby. And the best place for a baby after birth is with you.
The San Martín Difference
Our staff is here to help. Most are parents themselves, so no question should go unasked. Let us know whatever we can do to make your experience the best it can be.
Amenities That Are Sure to Deliver

24/7 On-Call Laborists
We have laborists, board certified obstetricians who are trained to care for pregnant women and obstetric emergencies, on call to assist mothers with delivery at all hours of the day to ensure that no mom is ever left alone while waiting for her OBGYN’s arrival.

Single Room Maternity Care
This is a time to be building family connections — not moving from room to room. That’s why we provide each of our expecting families single room delivery care. From the moment you check in to the moment you depart, all of your exceptional care happens in one spacious, private suite.

When Newborns Need a Little Extra Help
NICU
A NICU is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which provides extra care and attention for premature or critically ill babies.
Our Level II NICU is equipped to care for babies who are born early, but after at least 32 weeks or who are recovering from more serious conditions. We can also monitor for apnea spells, provide intravenous lines for special medications, offer feeding assistance, or use an incubator or other assistance to maintain body temperature. We use advanced monitoring equipment to ensure our smallest patients are safe at all times.
If more specialized care is needed, we are able to seamlessly transport our littlest patients to the Level III NICU at our Siena Hospital in Henderson, Nevada.
Children’s ER
Infants need a medical team that understands pediatrics. The Children’s Emergency Room at our Siena Hospital in Henderson, Nevada is the only hospital ER in the southeast part of the valley that specifically caters to children. If your child has an accident or other emergency, you can depend on our Siena Hospital Children’s ER for:
- Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians, 24/7
- Specialized Pediatric Emergency Nurses
- A more child-friendly setting separate from the main emergency room
- Level III trauma center
- Collaborative care with your family pediatrician
- Around-the-clock care, day or night
Children’s Miracle Network
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals are dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children. Their goals are to help children overcome disease and injury, and to prevent disease and injury through research, education and outreach programs.
Since 2005, St. Rose Dominican has been a Children’s Miracle Network hospital, and we are the only one in the southern Nevada region. 100% of every dollar raised in southern Nevada goes directly to the St. Rose Dominican NICU and pediatric centers.

Breast Milk Donor Program
Babies at our Level III NICU whose mothers cannot breastfeed are eligible for banked donor human milk. The milk is screened and pasteurized, making it safe and free of bacteria, while still retaining its beneficial components. Breast milk helps nourish premature and medically fragile newborns better than any other food. This gives our smallest patients every advantage in life, right from the very start.
